Many chat programs require a lot of bandwidth. And I mean a lot. Not something you could use on shared hosting.
25 - 35 persons at the same time and the site is useless.
How about your chat. How much bandwidth does it require for say 30 persons at the same time?
And what's the max. number of persons chatting at the same time?

Well our chat that is IM does not require any big amounts at all. It is Ajax based! That means it does not reload.
