Hi,
This is very important for me:
1) I will want able-soft to authenticate from a third-party user management(central) database. Is it possible to write an API/Plugin to accomplish that.
The third-party database is maintained by a mysql/perl application.
2) With respect to step 1), how are you maintaining your sessions(url, hidden, cookie, etc)?
3) I have emailed you a couple of times but can't get any reply. Is the forum the prefered in getting to you?

Well we need a spec
